On February 3rd, the She’s Trending tribe gathered at Huntington University for their screening of “One True Love,” a short film about the ONe TRUe LOVe organization featuring the woman and muse behind the mission of She’s Trending.

The film told the story of Krysten Aldridge, a change-maker with a heart of gold who has made it her mission to provide food for Phoenix’s homeless population since 2010.

But, as the film and Krysten herself so clearly conveyed, One True Love goes far beyond giving out food – it’s a love project intended to nourish body and soul by providing a full plate, sincere conversation and loving human connection for people who may be deeply lacking all of these things.

“It’s so much about creating a moment in time,” Aldridge said. “These people may not have had a hug or even a handshake in a long time.”

ONe TRUe LOVe sees a lot of consistent visitors, so Aldridge always makes it a point to keep up with individuals’ progress over time and chat with them about their lives and goals. Aldridge has coined the term “spiritual archeologists” as a way to describe the work she and her team do through ONe TRUe LOVe – spreading love and bringing out the best in others through the power of empathy and presence.

Aldridge spoke even more about her drive and inspiration during the event’s panel, where she was joined by Valley trailblazers Tyler Butler and She’s Trending’s very own Kia Bess.

The film and the event were powerful reminders of the power of passion to drive major change in our communities and, in Krysten’s own words, the ability to make connections that are like “strings in a tapestry – who you attract when you’re living through your heart.”

ONe TRUe LOVe runs off of not only love, but the kindhearted donations and volunteers that keep their stoves hot and their doors open.
